Philosophy
Each individual seeks the teachings of yoga and meditation with unique conditions, circumstances, and goals. These conditions, circumstance, and goals evolve through practice. The body is a direct manifestation of the mind. Through yoga practice, body and mind connect and restore each other to attain balance.
In my teaching I seek to embody and encourage the following values:
Compassion – Curiosity – Integrity – Presence – Empowerment
I feel that these values are represented in healthy yoga practice, and I strive to encourage their presence in my classes. I aim to mindfully serve and support every individual through instruction, mentoring, communicating, sharing, and honoring the tradition of yoga.
My goals for myself as a teacher are:
To treat Every Body as unique and value each person, using my experience and knowledge to tailor my instruction to meet individual needs while fostering a nurturing teacher/student relationship.
To provide a safe, vibrant, purposeful, and non-dogmatic yoga and meditation practice that encourages honoring and trusting our body through dedication and joy.
To conduct non-competitive, positive yoga lessons that respect each student’s individual path to physical well being, mental awareness, and spiritual fulfillment.
To promote yoga as an effective health and wellness tool, and seek greater acceptance of yoga as a healing modality by Western medicine practitioners.
To make yoga affordable and accessible to everyone.
Everyone can do yoga and meditation. On the lighter side: yoga is fun and practice feels wonderful!
